Mariah Carey is set to return to Las Vegas with a new series of shows.

The singer announced on Tuesday, February 6, that she would return to Sin City in spring with a series of eight shows titled Mimi’s celebration. “Vegas, I’m back in town with a new show!” Mimi Live Celebration in Las Vegas, April 12-27 at Dolby Live at Park MGM! “wrote the 54-year-old star on Instagram.
The residency will celebrate the 19th anniversary of the singer’s tenth studio album, Mimi’s emancipation, which was considered their “comeback album” by critics and became their best-selling album in the United States in a decade. According to Billboard, a new release reveals that “the Las Vegas shows will feature fan-favorite songs from this album, as well as other hits from her illustrious and incomparable career.”
Mimi’s Emancipation was released in April 2005 and produced hits such as We belong together. Six million copies have been sold in the United States and a total of 10 million worldwide. It also earned the R&B icon 10 Grammy nominations.
“I consider it a very important period in my career, a very important period for me as an artist,” the star said of Mimi’s Emancipation.
“I had a feeling of triumph because of the success it had. I know a lot of people also discovered me thanks to this album. That’s why I would love for people to remember the music on this album. I hope this does some good for people. That is the goal,” he explained to Billboard in 2020.
With this new residency, the album is likely to make a strong comeback on the charts as well!
The pop icon’s upcoming shows will be her first Las Vegas residency in four years, after The butterfly returnswhich took place from 2018 to 2020. In 2015, he had already excited the crowd at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Mariah Carey recently toured the United States with her Christmas show Merry Christmas to one and all!, which took place from November 15 to December 17, 2023. The singer’s next Las Vegas residency will take place at Dolby Live at Park MGM on April 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 24, 26 and 27 . Tickets are on sale starting Saturday, February 10.
Mariah Carey and Live Nation Las Vegas will donate $1 from every ticket purchased to the Fresh Air Fund’s Camp Mariah, one of the star’s charitable efforts.
